Sky Now

Terms of Service

Effective: July 24, 2026 Last updated: July 24, 2026

These terms cover your use of Sky Now — the app for sharing what's happening in the sky, together. By creating an account, you agree to them.

Read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.
01

Acceptance

By creating a Sky Now account or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Sky Now.

02

The service

Sky Now lets you post photos and observations of sky events — sunsets, rainbows, auroras, meteor showers, and more — see a feed and map of nearby sightings, and receive notifications about predictable astronomical events and corroborated live sightings near you.

03

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sky Now. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

04

Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • One account per person. Don't create an account to impersonate someone else.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
05

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, captions, and comments you post. By posting, you grant Sky Now a license to display and distribute that content within the app — to other users, on the feed and map — for as long as it stays posted. This also covers letting other users share your posts outside the app (for example, to Instagram or Facebook) using the Share button — any post shared this way always credits your username directly in the image itself.

You're responsible for what you post. By posting, you confirm you have the right to share it, and that it actually shows a sky or nature scene you observed — not a photo of a person, a screenshot, or content you don't have rights to.

06

Prohibited conduct

Don't use Sky Now to:

  • Harass, threaten, or bully other users.
  • Post photos of people, body parts, or anything unrelated to the sky or nature.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Spam, or attempt to get around posting limits or content checks.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app's normal operation.
07

Moderation & enforcement

Photos are automatically screened before posting, and posts and comments are checked against a list of disallowed language. Accounts are limited to 10 posts a day. Users can report content directly to our support team. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

08

Location & notifications

Posting an observation uses your device's location, blurred before it ever reaches our servers — see the Privacy Policy for details. Notifications are optional and can be turned off anytime in your device settings.

09

Our intellectual property

The Sky Now name, logo, and app design belong to us. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond normal use of the app.

10

Disclaimers

Sky Now is provided "as is." Predictions of astronomical events (like full moons, eclipses, or meteor showers) and live-sighting alerts are provided for general, informational, community purposes only — they're not guaranteed to be accurate or complete, and they aren't professional astronomical, weather, or scientific advice. Use your own judgment.

11

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sky Now and its developer aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including service interruptions or content posted by other users.

12

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings — this permanently removes your account and content, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know inside the app.
